PTFA

Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA)

Welcome to Alexandra Junior School’s PTFA

There is a very strong sense of community at AJS, and the PTFA celebrates and builds  on this by organising regular family-friendly fundraising events such as fairs, barbecues, quizzes, discos and cake sales. We aim to provide a range of social and enrichment opportunities for children and their families, as well as raising funds to support a range of activities and facilities at school.

Over the last few years, the PTFA has raised thousands of pounds to help the school develop, for example, its ICT resources, playground equipment, music lessons and an outdoor classroom.

We always need volunteers, helpers and committee members and we welcome anyone to join our friendly team! To find out more or ask a question, drop us a line at hello@ajsptfa.org.uk

There are lots of ways you can make a difference:

Helping out at an event

Coming along to events and spending money

Baking or buying cakes for the termly sales

Joining the PTFA committee to help plan events

Organising match funding from your employer

Donating goods or services for raffle prizes

Providing a club (such as choir, orchestra, yoga, author) or sharing your knowledge/expertise

TLC Fund

Throughout their time at AJS, children can take part in extracurricular activities ranging from clubs to day trips to residentials. When parents are unable to pay for these, the school tries to cover the cost itself.

With the current cost-of-living crisis, we know things have got a bit harder for all, and a lot harder for some. The AJS PTFA has therefore set up a special fund to help the school support families that need it. We are calling this the TLC fund, after the school’s values of Thinking, Learning and Caring, as our care for one another can help all children get the most out of their time at AJS.

Donations will be kept separate from the regular funds the PTFA raises, on which the school relies to fund projects and equipment. All donations and recipients will remain anonymous.

All contributions are welcome, large or small. If you would like more information about the fund, please contact the PTFA direct at hello@ajsptfa.org.uk
